What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini yoga is a holistic yoga practice that harmonizes body, mind and soul. Through an effective combination of breathing techniques (pranayama), kriyas (sequences of movements), meditation and mantras, the nervous and glandular systems are specifically addressed and regulated.

This practice helps you to break through old stress patterns, balance your hormones and restore your natural energy flow. It brings you back into your body, closer to yourself and opens up spaces for healing, clarity and spiritual growth.

What happens in a Kundalini Yoga calss?

Every calss follows an energetically effective structure:

  • Active warm-up exercises
  • Pranayam (breathwork)
  • Specific Kriya (series of movements)
  • Shavasana (deep relaxation)
  • Meditation (often with a mantra)

The alternation of tension and relaxation, movement and stillness, activation and letting go has a deep effect on your nervous system. Working with the chakras (energy centers) and focus points strengthens the endocrine system (glandular system). Your hormone balance is positively influenced, which can have noticeable effects on your mood, energy and inner balance. After just one hour, you often feel freer and more centered.

Who is Kundalini Yoga suitable for?

This practice is suitable for everyone - regardless of previous yoga experience, fitness or flexibility. It is particularly helpful for people,

  • who have a lot on their mind and want to strengthen access to their body
  • who are looking for a practice for stress reduction and mental clarity

Why Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini yoga is often referred to as the yoga of consciousness - because it not only activates you physically, but also opens you up spiritually.

Compared to many hatha yoga styles, where the focus is more on posture and form, I personally experience kundalini yoga as energetically uplifting, inwardly clearing and deeply transformative.

I currently teach regularly on Tuesdays in a sports studio in Berlin-Kreuzberg and irregularly in various yoga studios in Berlin.

On request I give private Kundalini Yoga classes for individuals or small groups.
